EABN Eagles in France

From the 28th until the 30th of December 2018, the EABN Eagles went on a trip to France. The main purpose of the trip was to face off against "Cergy Pontoise Basketball" (CPBB), in their hometurf in Cergy. Even though the Eagles were well traveled, including America, Poland, Germany and Spain, playing against French athletes was a new experience. That exactly is the point according to Coach Drew Henderson. Putting the players in new, unknown situations will make them grow and further their knowledge of basketball.

The eagles played against two teams of CPBB. The first game on the 29th of December was against CPBB´s U15 team. The U15 team managed to get a clear advantage in the first half of the match, due to several 3 pointers. After analyzing the enemy and "waking up" the Eagles were able to turn the game around and win the match with a score difference.

The second game on the 30th of December was against CPBB´s U17 team. The U17 team, like the U15 team, managed to overrun the Eagles in the first half of the game. Due to Drew´s distinct and straightforward advice, the Eagles were yet again successful turning the game around and winning. This time they won my one point, which shows the that the U17 team was a formidable opponent.

The focus of the trip was to play the games and gain experience, which also included visiting Paris on the day of arrival. While walking through the city the Eagles visited the "Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile" which is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the center of Place Charles de Gaulle.
